I get questions every day from people describing various symptoms and conditions and asking if I can point them in a direction towards understanding or healing themselves. I wish I could respond to every DM I get.
And while I’m not a doctor, and I’m certainly not your doctor, in all my years of researching and living with chronic conditions, it’s clear to me that there is a general approach that is best suited to actually achieve healing, which is widely applicable to most if not all people and families.
To be very clear - this is not a protocol, it is an approach.
When I first got very sick to the point of total disability, a geneticist told me there was a 50% chance I would just get worse until I die. That he sometimes sees people with my conditions get better, but usually they’re younger than me, and there is no way to know why, and that it’s all just a crapshoot.
This is the mental model most Americans (and many in the Western world) have about their health. We have been trained to believe that what ails us is individual. That we each have our own unique set of genes and we are predestined to fall apart in a certain way, just like our parents before us, and theirs before them. And when we fall apart, we should just appeal to the authority of the nearest white coat, who will prescribe us a pill we will need to take for the rest of our lives. And that’s it.
This is not healing. And in fact, it’s probably killing us faster, since life expectancy is getting lower each year and medical error is the third leading cause of death in America (and since that only counts deaths in the hospital, medical error is probably the #1 cause of death if we count those who died at home from medical neglect, misdiagnosis, and other iatrogenic causes).
We have not been taught the full truth about our bodies and our health. In many ways, the things that are ailing us are universal, the ways in which our bodies adapt to a toxic environment follow the same patterns and mechanisms, and the same approach to taking accountability for your health can result in various degrees of healing for people experiencing a wide variety of symptoms.
And with that, I am presenting below a step-by-step approach to understanding and bettering your health, no matter where you are in the healing journey, and no matter what your specific symptoms are.
This is a roadmap anyone can follow to better their health.
